Who We Are:

Columbia Law School's Writing Group

Writ is a student group at Columbia University School of Law  in New York, formed at the beginning of the spring semester of the academic year 2000-2001.  The group consists of law students who write fiction, poetry, prose and various other genres.  Once a week, we meet to workshop stories, poems, memoirs, and other writings by individual group members.  Workshopping entails reading the particular work prior to a given meeting and offering the author feedback at the meeting.  In this way, Writ encourages law students to continue writing while in law school, and provides constructive criticism to help our members hone their skills.
