CLIO PLUS AND LIBRARYWEB TRAINING

The CLIO Plus/LWeb Coordinators will be repeating the series of
sessions offered earlier this year for staff who assist users with
CLIO Plus and LWeb Resources.  All the sessions will be held in 833
Butler and will be held from 4-5 PM.  If you are interested in
attending any of the following, please contact Raenell Jones at rlj12
or extension 47629.  We will make a repeat announcement of each
session approximately a week in advance, but feel free to sign up
soon.

Handling Search Results (printing, clipping, etc.) - December 3, 1997

DIGITAL COLLECTIONS OVERVIEW

Session centers on locating and selecting electronic books from the
Electronic Text Service and locating articles and tables of content
from in Columbia's electronic journal collection.  Reference items and
news services will also be covered.

Your instructors are Hal Grossman and Vivian Sukenik.

HANDLING SEARCH RESULTS (printing, clipping, etc.)

This session will include a review of the CLIP feature for sending ILL
requests, ON ORDER/IN PROCESS forms, and Book Order Requests. A brief
basics overview of printing utilizing Jake Printing services will
follow.

RLIN/EUREKA

This session will include a review of the basic RLIN commands as used
via CLIO Plus and also a review of the Eureka interface.

This session will be in 504 Butler Library from 3-4 pm.

FIRSTSEARCH

Session covers searching techniques using both CLIO Plus and
LibraryWeb versions of the OCLC interface to many of the periodical
indexing and abstracting services offered to the CU library patrons.
Hints for special searching techniques as well as for handling the
results of a search via e-mail, printing or downloading will be
covered.
