COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES
PUBLICATIONS GUIDELINES

Each library is encouraged to create publications that explain its
resources to its users and any forms needed for operations that are
unique to that library. Assistance with publication and coordination
of the Libraries' budget for publications and forms is provided
through Howard Dillon, who serves as Publications Coordinator.

After you write your text, assistance is available, if wanted, for
word processing, design, or formatting.

All new and revised publications to be centrally produced are to be
submitted to Ree DeDonato and Kari Smith for budget approval and a brief
review against these guidelines:

- The name Columbia University Libraries and a date mark, e.g. 08-2002,
should appear on all library publications.

- Recyclable white paper, or colored paper containing recyclable dyes,
will be used.

- Indicate the number of copies to be printed; note any special format
requirements.

- It is your responsibility to provide storage for the camera-ready
copy of the publication and a machine-readable copy of the
word-processing document from which it was printed.

Libraries-wide publications are maintained by the External Relations and
Communications Coordinator, Kari Smith, and the Library Information Office.
You may deposit your records with the Library Information Office if you
unit does not want to take the responsibility to maintain them.
