This brief guide was originally prepared in order to give guests of Columbia University Libraries basic information about reasonably- priced places to eat near Butler Library.   Your additions, suggestions and comments are welcome.  Please send to lunch@libraries.cul.columbia.edu.

* AMIR'S MIDDLE EASTERN CUISINE, 2911-A Broadway (between 113th and 114th), 749-7500.
$. No credit cards. Sandwiches, spinach pies, falafel, humus. Take out and sit in the park or on the Bway traffic island.

** CAFÉ 112, 2883 Broadway (between 112th and 113th), 662-8470.
$. Salads, sandwiches, quiches and burgers; extreme pastry. Laid back atmosphere. Seasonal sidewalk café. "They leave you alone."

** CAFÉ PERTUTTI’S, 2852 Broadway (between 112th & 113th), 864-1143
$$. Light Italian fare, fresh pasta, good sandwiches. Sit next to the window and watch folks eye the pastry counter.

** DYNASTY CHINESE RESTAURANT, 2836 Broadway (corner of 110th), 665-6455
$. All major CC. "Taste o’ China." Good menu, with some unusual selections. Depressing pictures, though. $5.50 lunch specials.

*** FISH RESTAURANT, 2799 Broadway (between 107th and 108th), 864-5000.
$$. Seafood. Seasonal outdoor seating. Food is well-prepared, attractive and delicious.

** THE HEIGHTS BAR & GRILL, 2867 Broadway (between 111th and 112th), 866-7035.
$. Tapas, soups, salads & sandwiches. Lovely second floor, windowed dining room. Big improvement over the justifiably burned out Nacho Mamas that it replaces.

** THE MILL KOREAN RESTAURANT, 2895 Broadway (between 112th and 113th), 666-7653.
$. Korean barbecue, casseroles, noodles & soups. "Best Example of Cultural Syncretism in a Luncheonette" – Best of Manhattan ‘95

*** MONSOON VIETNAMESE COOKING, 2850 Broadway (between 110th & 111th), 665-2700.
$$. AE. Seafood, noodles, curries, salads, vegetarian specialties; excellent appetizers. Waitpersons seem to be holding old grudges.

* OLLIE'S NOODLE SHOP & GRILL, 2957 Broadway (between 115th and 116th), 932-3300.
$. All major CC. Chinese noodles and other fare. Good salads--large and fresh. Very fast and cheap. Often crowded at lunch with people talking loudly and waving dumplings.

* SYMPOSIUM GREEK RESTAURANT, 544 W 113th St. (between Broadway & Amsterdam), 865-1011
$$. All major CC. Old-fashioned Greek fare, with all the greasy favorites.

* TOM’S RESTAURANT, 2880 Broadway (corner of 112th ), 864-6137.
$. Diner& student hangout, usually crowded. Seinfeld watchers will recognize the exterior. Large portions of whatever.

** WEST END GATE, 2911 Broadway (between 113th & 114th St.) 662-8830
$$. AE. Once a dive for beat poets and bikers, now an airy upscaled saloon and sports bar. Grilled food, salads; good daily individual pizza special. Seasonal sidewalk café.

* THE WRAPP FACTORY, 2857 Broadway (between 100th & 111th St.), (212) 665-5870
$. "Hand-wrapped sandwiches & smoothies." Eat In/Take Out but mostly the latter. Pita & tortilla sandwiches, burritos, ‘salad wrapps’. Kinda ‘eclectic’.
