The following was an internal CUL working document prepared for the
University's Year 2000 Compliance project. The following lists
enumerated devices owned by the Libraries that had embedded microchips in
1998-99. Detailed information on manufacturers, model numbers and Y2K
compliance status was maintained separately and reported to the
University on a regular basis until the end of 1999.
For more information on the Year 2000 Compliance status of assorted
hardware and software from this time, see
also the Columbia University Common
Components List.

local risk Libraries functions:
- Microcomputers
- Barcode scanners
- Ethernet hublets
- US postal meter
- CD-ROM changers and towers

functions, or without Y2K implications:
- Printers
- Scanners
- Fax machines
- Photocopiers
- Digital microfilm reader printers
- Analog microfilm reader printers
- Audio-Visual equipment
- Light switches with timers

These will not be specifically analyzed or tested as part of the Year 2000
compliance process.
