Circulation policies

Monographs:

Most ReCAP monographs published post -1851 have a standard loan period of 4 weeks or 1 semester, depending on the patron status.

Exception: Materials owned by HSL are generally available for a 3-week loan.

Serials:

Serial volumes are generally available for a 1-week, non-renewable loan.

Exception: Serial volumes owned by Starr East Asian have a 2-week loan period, renewable up to 10 times.

Microforms:

Most ReCAP microforms treated as monographs have a standard loan period of 4 weeks or 1 semester, depending on the patron status.

Exception: Materials owned by HSL are generally available for a 3-week loan.

Most ReCAP microforms treated as serial volumes are available for a 1-week, non-renewable loan.

Exception: Serial volumes owned by Starr East Asian have a 2-week loan period, renewable up to 10 times.

Music scores & sound recordings:

Music scores and sound recordings will only circulate from the Music & Arts Library. These items have barcodes that begin with MR.

Butler Media:

Butler Media videos and DVDs will only circulate from Butler Reserves/Media Center. These items have barcodes that begin with CV.

Special collections:

Special collection items can only be viewed at their owning library location. Contact the owning library or department for additional information.
