Session #1: Initial Dreamweaver Orientation

Stephen Davis]
Trainee learns to:
- set up Dreamweaver preferences for the local LWEB/SWIFT environment
- set up & configure a Dreamweaver "site" that parallels the
section of LibraryWeb or SWIFT that will be worked in
- use Dreamweaver's FTP client to upload, download and synchronize
local & server files
- use the Properties Inspector
- use the "Design View" (WYSIWYG) interface to edit
an existing document
- create and modify HTML tables
- insert an image into HTML document and adjust size & placement
- use the "Code Inspector" interface to view & tweak
HTML source
- create valid 'root relative' URLs
Session #2: Intermediate Dreamweaver &
Web Editing Skills
[75 minutes, one-on-one training, given by Stephen
Davis]
Includes review of Session #1 skills. In addition
trainee learns to:
- apply CSS styles using the LibraryWeb / SWIFT stylesheets
- update existing documents to conform to HTML 4.01
- preview documents using a special "template" shell
- use Dreamweaver's search & replace tool on text, elements
& attributes
- lookup & insert diacritics & special characters
- adjust text alignment, use indents, overall page layout
- create and manage ordered and unordered lists
- use 'server-side includes' in Dreamweaver (optional)
- use Linkscan to check for broken URLs (optional)
