Adjacent to the AcIS lab, the Information Resources Training Lab is equippped with 14 workstations (with seating for two at each station), an instructor's station and podium, audio, video and computer projection, and a Jake printer. The room provides a training facility for a variety of Libraries and AcIS instruction sessions, ranging from introductory sessions for Logic and Rhetoric classes to advanced instruction in specialized resources. When not in use for a scheduled instructional session, the facility serves as an extension of the AcIS lab, with the 14 workstations and Jake printer available for individual use.
Expected to open in Fall 1999. This 60-seat lecture/demonstration facility, located in the northeast corner of the floor, will provide a venue for instruction in use of electronic and traditional library resources to larger groups. The facility includes a computer equipped instructor's podium, capability for slide, video, and computer projection, and several "hands-on" workstations for practice of demonstrated services. Flexibility in seating arrangements is possible since seats are not fixed to the floor. The room may become available for limited special events scheduling depending on use patterns.
Formerly designated the "Instructional Technology Support Center," this facility opened in March 1999. It serves as a high-end instructional technology lab, serving faculty and other instructors who are deploying instructional technology in their teaching.
