Preferred Shelflist Order

This table is from the Library of Congress' Subject Cataloging Manual, G060, p.25, ref. 10/06/86. It illustrates the Preferred Shelflist Order for Individual Authors (personal, corporate, etc.) and the examples under "Separate works" assume that it is various manifestations that have appeared after one original work. See also the Print Supplement for more special situations, examples, etc.

Also from the SCM:SL, "It must be emphasized that the above table should be applied only when it does not conflict with any instructions or provisions in the particular schedule. Often it will be possible to use only a portion of the table."
