Scope and Contents
Manuscripts collected by David J. Dallin. These manuscripts are divided into two parts. The first consists of 15 autobiographical
essays (8 in English, 7 in Russian) by Soviet displaced persons, discussing their lives in the USSR and why they chose not
to return there. The second part consists of 5 essays in English telling the stories of Soviet displaced persons from the
point of view of another, unidentified narrator.
