Sophie Kerr papers, 1916-1964
Novelist, short story writer. Kerr was one of the most successful and prolific authors in the age of entertainment writing
that preceded the television era. During a career that spanned six decades, she published 23 volumes and several hundred short
stories and essays.
Scope and Contents
The collection contains 273 drafts, manuscripts, and typescripts representing every genre in which Miss Kerr worked. It includes
12 book-length manuscripts, the earliest being LOVE AT LARGE, a novel published in 1916. Also, books from Sophie Kerr's library,
some of which are inscribed to her and books written by Kerr.
