Della Pollock is Professor in the Department of Communication Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, specializing in the areas of Performance and Cultural Studies. She is the author of Telling Bodies Performing Birth: Everyday Narratives of Childbirth (Columbia University Press, 1999), and editor of Exceptional Spaces: Essays in Performance and History (University of North Carolina Press, 1998) and Remembering: Oral History Performance (Palgrave/Macmillan, 2005). She is co-editor of the journal, Cultural Studies.
