all types and the setup of new school and vocational center building
projects (such as the Agricultural Vocation Center in Digdaga). Developed
standards for educational facilities and school furniture. Set up
maintenance programs for the country's schools. Trained technical personnel
for the ministry. Served as a special advisor for the detailed construction
of schools for the Ministry of Works and Housing.

Educational Facilities
The 1968 M.Arch. thesis dealt with educational facilities, in particular
youth centers as cultural training centers. In 1976, received the doctoral
degree under the supervision of Professor Karl Schwanzer and later
Professor Werner Hollomey. The title of the thesis was Der Schulbau im
Arabischen Raum und Seine Entwicklung (School Building and its Development
in the Arab World). The following list is a selection of completed

Cultural Heritage
Part of the doctoral thesis dealt with the cultural heritage in the Arab
world, namely the conservation and redevelopment of old cities. While a
professor at the Al Fateh University member of the committee with the task
to solve the conservation problem of the old city in Tripoli. Later
prepared a study which was the basis for the conservation effort by UNESCO
and the Libyan government. Completed a study on the conservation of the
old city of Fez in Morocco.
Since 1992 publishing numerous articles on such topics as cultural
heritage, history of architecture, Islamic City Planning , architecture
critique in various publications.
