DESCRIPTION OF YOUR WORK

Archaeology:  Primary interest and specializing in late prehistory of the
southern Levant (Israel, Jordan and the Palestinian Autonomous Regions. 
Particular interests in Late Neolithic, Chalcolithic and Early Bronze per-
iods/cultural horizons (7th to end of 3rd millennia) with emphasis on
Early Bronze I (2nd half of 4th millennium BC). 

	Areas of specific interest include chronology, foreign relations,
ceramics, architecture, lithics (ground stone and chipped stone
industries) and most recently the development of the first urbanized
societies (secondary states), from village level, against the backdrop of primary state
formation in the riverine valleys of the Fertile Crescent.

	Secondary interests include salvage and rescue excavation and field
work, excavation techniques, recording techniques, data base creation
and utilization for research and publication.  Also Middle Bronze and Iron
Ages.
