Interested in study and research in folklore of Bengal. Running 
the Folkloristic Education and Research Institute (FERI). Organizing 
seminars, conferences on folklore and oral tradition. Running the course 
in undergraduate level as well as postgraduate level in the University.

Specialization: folklore, oral tradition, 
old and medieval literature of Bengal

15 books have been published so far.
5 books have been editred mostly of Medieval Bengali texts.
10 research scholars have been awarded PhD from the University under my 
supervision. 10 scholars are going on in their research. Field of the 
research projects is folklore, oral tradition and medieval Bengali 
literature.
