The second International Conference on Women & Politics in Asia will be held in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka on 19-20 November 2004.This international conference will focus on various issues related to women and politics in Asia.

The conference will address the following issues:

  • Women empowerment & Political participation
  • Women, Gender & Politics
  • Globalization & women's political participation
  • The role of religion & women in Politics
  • Women, Media & politics
  • Case studies on Women Politicians
  • Other issues & Women in Politics

  • Women & Politics in outside Asia

Call for Papers

The organizers invite you to participate in the international conference on women and politics in Asia to be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka on 19-20 November 2004. We invite abstracts for papers expanding on this central theme, and on other relevant topics. The conference is multi-disciplinary and cross-disciplinary and welcomes papers from the social sciences and the humanities.

The abstracts should be not less than 200 words and not more than 400 words and forward to:

ihdt@sltnet.lk on or before 1st April 2004 for consideration.
