butions to such charitable organizations out of surplus earnings
as they may deem expedient.

Article XII.
Interest on Loans made by the Society.
The Society shall not charge or receive any interest on loans
made by it of a greater amount than one-half of the interest which
pawnbrokers are now authorized to charge by law.

Article XIII.
By-Laws.
The Trustees may make such By-Laws or Rules not incon¬
sistent with the Charter and Constitution of the Society as they
may deem expedient.

Article XIV.
Quorum.
Ten members of the Society shall constitute a quorum for
the transaction of business at meetings of the Society.

Article XV.
Amendments.

This Constitution, except Articles I, II, and IX, all of which
are contained in the Charter and can therefore only be amended
by act of the legislature, may be amended by the Trustees at any
time by the affirmative vote or written assent of two-thirds of
their entire number, provided, however, that Article III shall be
amended only by the affirmative vote or written assent of not
less than thirteen Trustees, and that Articles XI and XII shall
be amended only by the affirmative vote or written assent of
all the Trustees, approved by a majority of the members of the
Society.

This Constitution, except the aforesaid Articles which are con¬
tained in the Charter, and except Articles XI and XII, may also
be amended by the Society at any time by the vote of two-thirds
of all the members thereof, at any meeting called for this purpose,
the call for which shall have specified any particular amendment
proposed.

The members may vote by proxj' on any subject requiring
their action or approval.
