Activities of the Friends
MEETINGS
Fall /Meeting on November y. As we go to press with this
issue of the Columns, plans have been completed for the regu¬
lar fall meeting of the Friends. It will be held on Wednesday
evening, No\'ember 9, at the Men's Faculty Club. The speaket
will be Robert Halsband, Adjunct Professor of English, whose
address is entitled: "Rare Books and Manuscripts: Luxury or
Necessity?" An exhibition of rare and unusual books and man¬
uscripts which liavc been acquired during the past year will be
on view in Butler Library, and a selection from the exhibition
will be placed in cases in the Faculty Club for examination by
our members and guests at the time of the meeting.
Note
The annual financial report of the Friends which is usually
published in the November issue of the Columns will appear in
a later issue.
