Activities of the Friends

Random House Exhibition. The exhibition, "Random House &
Bennett Cerf," celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the founding
of the publishing house, opened with a reception in Low Library
on Tuesday afrernoon, January 27, sponsored by the Friends and
the University Librarian, and attended by more than five hundred
invited guests. .Mrs. Phyllis Cerf Wagner, the publisher's widow,
was the guest of honor. The exhibition of inscribed first editions,
letters and manuscripts relating to Random House authors and
their books will remain on view through February 20.

Bancroft Awards Dinner. The Bancroft .-Awards Dinner has been
scheduled for Tuesday evening, April i.
