for the Moscow Art Theater and Ballets Russes, as
well as a painter and book illustrator, who lived and
worked in the United States for the last two decades
of his life.

Kenneth A. Lohf is Columbia's Librarian for Rare
Books and iUanuscripts.

Susan Cook Summer is Coordinator for Bibliograph¬
ical Service at the Modem Language Association, and
is the author of numerous articles on Russian dance,
