Robert Reed Cole adapted his article from a longer study
about Joseph Pennell that he is writing and is coauthor of a
book about Joseph Urban to be published by Abbeville
Press.

Robert Giroux is chairman of the editorial board of
Farrar, Straus & Giroux, Inc., and is the 1987 recipient of
the Alexander Hamilton award at Columbia University.

Kenneth A. Lohf is Columbia's Librarian for Rare Books
and Manuscripts.

F. J. S'lPHi'R has edited two volumes of the poetry of Leti-
tia Elizabeth Landon and is currendy working on an edi¬
tion of her novel Ethel Churchill.
