VALENTINE'S MANUAL
Maiiy wonderful years have ])assed since the eyes of
youth looked u])oii oiir city as I knew it when a boy. The
golden glow of the sun as it sinks to rest, no longer seems
to flood the streets with the blaze of its dei^arting glory.
The eternal shaclows dwell between the deep canyons of
the skyscrapers.
What has become of the Fairies? Where is the magic
wand to wave us hack to the land of Make Believe—to the
little high chair and its bowl of bread and milk? Why
can't we feel again the touch of a vanished hand—the
sound of a voice that is still? The old song comes back,
but that is all.
Seven ships a-sailing on the Milky Sea,
Four of them sank, and then there were three.
One came to Tobey and one came to me—
And one went a-sailing on íhe Milky Sea!
