CONCERNING BACK ISSUES OF THE "MANUAL."
ORDER MISSING NUMBERS NOW

A number of persons may this year receive a copy of
the Manual for the first time. Elsewhere in these pages
we have given a short sketch of the origin of this book
and of the important part it has played in recording the
annals of New York in the past.

To those who are interested in the growth and de-
velopment of our city, these old records are of absorb-
ing interest. The quaint, simple pictures, contrasting
as they do with the splendor of the present, are a never-
failing source of interest. About six hundred of these
rare old views have now appeared in the pages of this
journal, each number containing about a hundred, many
of them beautifully reproduced in their original colors.

Each issue of the Manual is complete in itself, both as
to pictures and text. The entire set now consists of eight
