Biographical/Historical Note

Lewis Josselyn (1883-1964) was an American photographer, active in Carmel, Calif., 1914-1940. His work can be found in the collections of the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park and the Monterey Peninsula Museum of Art.

"...Charles was engaged by Mortimer Fleishhacker to design a 'sun room' for ...their Woodside residence ...Hand-carved furniture was planned for the room ...and in the fall of 1925 the Fleishhackers took delivery of Charles's exquisite card table with tooled-leather top, four side chairs, and an armchair, each with an intricately tooled and pigmented leather seat." -- Greene & Greene / Edward R.
