Biographical/Historical Note
Maynard Parker, a commercial photographer, was
born in 1900 in Vermont and died in Los Angeles in
1976. Parker shot extensively for the magazine,
House Beautiful, and was favored by some of the
leading architects of his day, notably Aaron Green
and Frank Lloyd Wright. The Huntington Library in San Marino, Calif. houses a collection of Maynard Parker
photographs.

In 1911 "Edward Savage Crocker and his wife purchased Dr. Crow's house. It was Crocker who was responsible for doubling the
size of the property by purchasing land to the west of the residence and enhancing it with extensive gardens and outbuildings."
