Columbia University Image Bank

(Sept. 2009) The Columbia University Image Bank is now available as a hosted collected in ARTstorService restricted to members of the Columbia community. The Libraries' image collection - Columbia Image Bank: History of Art and Architecture - was previously accessible only through the Luna Insight system. That collection has been combined with images from the  Visual Media Center, Dept. of Art History and Archaeology, for a total of over 66,000 digital images in ARTstor. Many images are licensed from Saskia Ltd., but our working group updates the collection through original field documentation and local digitization.

To search the Image Bank collection in ARTstor, click Go on the ARTstor homepage then click Columbia University Image Bank under Institutional Collections on the Welcome page. Or search across all collections: a total of over one million images. We encourage you to try ARTstor, however the Luna InsightService restricted to members of the Columbia community system will be available through the end of the calendar year.
