I am not affiliated with Columbia University.  How can I get a Columbia dissertation?

Since you are not affiliated with Columbia University, you have two options:

  1. Contact your local library to ask for assistance with acquiring the dissertation through interlibrary loan.

  2. Purchase a copy of the dissertation from ProQuest. To do this in Academic Commons, click on the Full Text link on the page of the dissertation you are interested in, then click on the ORDER A COPY button. Or, order directly from ProQuest's Dissertation Express.

Some authors opt to withhold the digtial version of their dissertation from the public or to embargo the full text for a specific period of time. You can check CLIO, Columbia Libraries Online Catalog, to locate a print copy of the dissertation.
