ALMA: African Language Materials Archive: A joint
project of the West African Research Center (Dakar, Senegal), Columbia University, CAORC--Council of American Overseas Research Centers, and
UNESCO. (via DLIR--Digital Library for International Research, a project of the CAORC, Washington, DC)
A collection of 33 electronic books in three major languages of West Africa: Wolof, Mandinka, and Pular. The archive
was produced as part of a pilot project launched by the West African Research Center in Dakar.
The home page of a Boston-based American "world music ensemble" led by kora player David Gilden; plus related links on the kora,
educational programs, and concerts.
The website includes general information about the activities of the Institute and a few documents on the African Commission on Human and
Peoples' Rights. "The Institute for Human Rights and Development in Africa is a non-profit, non-governmental pan-African
organisation headquartered in the Gambia. The Institute is committed to contributing to the development of the African human rights system through
its programme activities.

The website includes information about the association's publications and
activities, its by-laws, a selection of photographs on Mande culture and daily life, a
cultural map; plus related links. "[Founded in 1986] MANSA was organized to
increase and encourage communication between scholars interested in all topics of study involving the Mande peoples of West Africa, and the
neighbors with whom they interact on a regular basis."
