My chief research and teaching interests are: Anthropology of religion,
cultural exchange between Africa and the Americas (mainly Brazil), the
development of ethnic groups on the basis of religious adherence, and
complexity approaches in Anthropology. I give lectures on Anthropology at
Hamburg University and I am participating in an interdisciplinary project
about Afro-Brazilian Religion in a globalising world.
