My main interests are demography, economic anthropology, and child health
and development. I am an anthropologist by training, receiving my Ph.D.
from the University of New Mexico in 1995, and I have spent several years
conducting fieldwork among the Okavango Delta peoples of Botswana
(HaMbukushu, Xanekwe, Bugakwe, Dxeriku, and Wayeyi). My work integrates
perspectives from behavioral ecology and life history theory, economics,
and psychology.
