Research Interests:  
East African Environmental History

Teaching Responsibilities: 
1.  World History - Modern World History Survey and regional treatment of
the Indian Ocean Basin. 
2.  African History - Patterns of Exchange in African History; History of
African landscapes.  (both upper division) 
3.  Environmental History - Graduate seminar in Environmental History;
upper division course under development which treats the history of place.
