I study African politics, HIV/AIDS, and local politics. My dissertation 
research is on the micropolitics of HIV/AIDS interventions in East and 
Southern Africa, with special attention to the experience of Malawi. I am 
part of a larger research group conducting household surveys in rural 
Malawi (www.malawi.pop.upenn.edu). Methodologically, I am interested in 
the systematic analysis of qualitative data, field experiments, and 
anything that can be learned from longitudinal household level data.
