I hold a BA and MA (Igbo) from the University of Lagos, Nigeria and an
M.Phil. (Linguistics) from the University of Cambridge. I am nearing the
completion of my Ph.D. (Linguistics) at the University of Ottawa. My
primary research interest is language Contact, especially the contact
between English and African languages as manifested in Code-switching,
Borrowing, Pidgins and Creoles. I have also researched and published
papers on the syntax of African languages including Igbo and Akan.

I taught Igbo language and literature for several years at the University of
Lagos. I now teach sociolinguistics and syntax as a sessional lecturer
at the University of Ottawa.
