Professor Hill taught Introductory Hausa and Intermediate Hausa at the
Institute of African Studies, School of International & Public Affairs,
Columbia University.

Research interests:
(1)  cross-cultural studies of language, space and time 
(2)  cross-cultural studies of orality and literacy 
(3)  cross-cultural approaches to testing and assessment with respect to 
language and literacy.  

Professor Hill was also the founding Chair of the Department of
International and Transcultural Studies at Columbia Teachers College.
