Applied research on current problems of socio-economic development in
Africa south of the Sahara ; social dimension of SAP (structural
adjustment program) ; socio-cultural dimension of development ;
development planning ; rural development in West-Africa.
Research interests:
(1) Cultures of innovation and development in transitional African
societies; the impact of cultural innovations in the informal sector of
the economy and politics on sustainable development.
(2) Comparative study of the political economy of occult belief systems
and their impact on development in African and Caribbean States
Field research in Benin, Guinea-Bissau, Madagascar, Nigeria, and in Togo.
