I am a comparativist, specialist of 19th and 20th century French,
Francophone and New World Studies. I teach Francophone and Anglophone
literatures of Africa and the diasporas, including the Caribbean and the
Indian Ocean areas. 

I am also interested in issues of identity and migration and in the way
that the circulation of people, ideas, and cultural objects transforms the
rigid views of nationalism prevalent in the European context.
