I am a trained midwife and cultural anthropologist and currently working
on issues of medical technology transfer into so called developing
countries. My dissertation will focus on "Ultrasound in Ghana" and, thus
in a more general sense on reproductive health and development. Within my
research I am also interested to look at medical pluralism and changing
ideas of body/ bodies and pregnancy by new technologies and globalised
knowledge.

Fieldwork starting in October 2002.
