Research Interests:  Household health, nutrition and reproduction in
developing societies - especially East Africa; the anthropology of
reproduction including fertility, pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, and
care-giving; patterns of nutritional status and energetics in developing
societies; gender roles, household dynamics, and social organization;
applications of anthropology to public health and policy.  Reproductive
ideology among the Iraqw of north central Tanzania.
