Teach survey course on Africa, conflict in Africa and U.S. policy in
Africa.  Speciality is the Horn of Africa.  

Have recently given public speeches or written on terrorism in the Horn of
Africa, Islamic fundamentalism in Ethiopia, brain drain in Ethiopia,
HIV/AIDS in Ethiopia and situation in Somalia and Somaliland.
