Dr. Sidikou's research focuses on the verbal art of women, mainly from West
Africa. She teaches African literature, civilizations and cinema. Aissata
Sidikou-Morton was the recipient for the National Endowment for the
Humanities for a collaborative research grant (2001-2003). She serves on the
African Studies Program Committee and also teaches in the Comparative
Literature Department as well as the African Studies Program. She serves on
the Board of Directors of United with Africa. Dr. Sidikou is currently
working on her next book, The Epic of Fatimata bi Daani, which is soon to
appear as part of the Epic Series by Indiana University Press.
