Research has focused on education and social policy in colonial Zimbabwe
before 1945 with particular attention to missions, the origins and
implementation of segregation, and African struggles to shape policies and
implementation.  

Teaching on Africa has included all of Africa since 1500, South Africa,
Gender and African History, and a few topical courses, such as "Food and
Power in Africa and Asia" and a research seminar on resistance, revolts
and revolutions in modern Africa.
