International politics analyst, specialist in the Arab and
Islamic World. I worked for many years as professor of the
Sociology School, University of Buenos Aires, and I'm currently
in charge of a course on international politics at the most
important school of journalism in Buenos Aires (Taller-Agencia-Escuela;
TEA).
I have written three books: "Middle East and the Gulf War; the
Arab-Israeli conflict" (October 1991). "The last days of the
URSS; Boris Yesltin vs Mijail Gorbachov" (December 1991).
"Where does Nicaragua goes to?" (1989). I usually cooperate with
national and foreign newspapers and magazines, and each time an
international conflict arises I'm invited to radio and television
programmes.
My work is focused on the study of the "New World Order",
and, within this, the confrontation between Islam and the West
and the evolution rebirth of political islam.
The last works I have published refer to this subject. In
"Rebirth of Islam" I analyse the development of Islamic
movements. "How will the XXI century wars be? " is a critical
analysis of Samuel Huntington's article "Clash of Civilizations"
published by Foreign Affairs. "Inventing a new enemy for the
West? is an analysis of the confrontation of the West with Islam.
On the other hand, I have interviewed Islamic leaders,
intelectuals and professors working on this subject. RASHID AL
GANNOUCHI, Chairman of the Islamic Movement "Al Nahda" (The
Rebirth) from Tunisia. ABDALA NIMER DARWISH, highest authority of
the Islamic movement within the State of Israel. ABRAHAM
SERFATY, leader of the leftist party "Ila Al-Aman" (Forward) from
Morroco, who was left free after 17 years in prison where he
cohabitated with Islamic leaders opposers to King Hassan II. ZIAD
ABU AMR, professor at the Palestine University of Bir Zeit and
considered as the highest authority on Hamas and Islamic Jihad
From Palestina. ARIEL MERARI, professor at the Tel Aviv
University, Director of the "Department of Terrorism Studies"
From said university and author of several works on suicidal
terrorism in the Middle East. GILLES KEPEL, Research Director of
the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) from
Paris, being considered at present as the most important French
researcher on Islam, and author of several books on this subject.
ALAIN GRESH, Editors Chief of "Le Monde Diplomatique" and author
of several books on the Middle East. MAXIME RODINSON, the well
known professor of the Ecole Pratiques des Hautes Etudes de
Paris, author of several books on Islam, among them "Mahoma, the
birth of the Islamic world".
