My research is on the history of the Jewish life in the Middle East in the Late
Middle Ages, namely the 15th and 16th centuries. I am dealing a lot with the
Cairo Genizah documents. I am concentrated on the Jewish communities in the
Land of Israel and Egypt at that period. I have published more than 110
articles, the most of them are on this topic, and three books, only the last
one is regarding the Middle East: Aliyah ve-Hityashvut be-Eretz Israel in the
16th Century (Hebrew), Jerusalem, Rubbin Mass, 1993. Now this book is in
process of translating into English and supposed to be published at the
University of Alabama Press under the title: Immigration and Settlement in the
Land of Israel in the 16th Century.
