My primary research area is generally centered in Israel and the
Palestinian territories.  I am concerned primarily with the Negev
bedouin and other Israeli Arab groups, as well as other migrant and
bedouin groups in Palestine, Egypt, Jordan, and Syria.  My specific
concerns relate to social and economic development and urbanization of
these groups, and how settlement impacts the social and economic
structures of such societies and communities.
