Early Islamic, especially Umayyad-period, history;
particularly the commerce, trade, industry & economy understood through
material/ archaeological remains (archaeology) for commercial architecture
(markets, suq, aswaq) in the Levant / Bilad ash-Sham (Syria, Lebanon,
Jordan, Palestine, Israel)
 
Excavator of early eighth-century Abbasid qasr at Humeima/ Humayma.
