Trained in biblical languages and literature, I continue to
teach biblical literature (Hebrew Bible and Christian Scriptures)
as well as courses in Judaism and Islam. Since 1974 my primary
research has focused on Hellenistic to Byzantine archaeology.  I
am the Associate Director of the Excavations at Sepphoris, Israel.
I am particularly interested in the application of science and
technology to archaeology.
