I study Ancient Near Eastern social and economic history, particularly the
ancient histories of Iraq, Syria and Israel and texts in Sumerican,
Akkadian and Biblical Hebrew.  I am interested in the history of slavery,
labor, prices, and wisdom, particularly the Biblical Book of Proverbs.
