DESCRIPTION OF YOUR WORK

Egyptologist; presently specializing in calendrics, chronology, ancient
natural science (astronomy in particular), festival structures of Ancient
Egypt and elsewhere in Western Asia.

Languages of speciality:  Egyptian (ancient); Akkadian; and Hittite.

Other areas of research and teaching include:  economic structures of
Pharaonic Egypt; accounts and basic mathematical texts (ancient); grain
accounts in paticular; political theology, and it connection to Pharaonic
religion and society.

Most recent books are:  Three Studies on Egyptian Feasts (Baltimore, 1992);
Revolutions in Time (San Antonio, 1994); and The Private Feast Lists of
Ancient Egypt (Wiesbaden, 1996).
