My field is the study of early Christianity and religion in late
antiquity. Most of my teaching is in New Testament and history of
early Christianity. My research speciality has been the Coptic
manuscripts from Nag Hammadi, and this has involved some special emphasis
on early Egyptian Christianity in general. I teach an introductory
course in Sahidic Coptic, about every three years.
