Description of work:

I am an anthropologist; a biological or physical anthropologist by
training who is currently doing work in the field of cultural ecology in a
Sherpa village in Helambu (Yolmo), Nepal.  My research interests include
Himalayan ecology, cultural and environmental conservation and
preservation, National Parks in South Asia, human ecology, yak and
yak-hybrids, Sherpa and related Tibetan groups, Tibetan Buddhism, and
primates of South Asia.  I am currently president of the Nepal Studies
Association, an international group of scholars and others interested in
the Himalayan region.
